Empowering Children Through Movement
What is GoBabyGo?
In early 2024, Coastal Kids Home Care launched a local chapter of GoBabyGo, a global initiative that helps children with health and developmental challenges explore their world through mobility. Since launching, we’ve delivered 18 custom-modified ride-on cars to children across the Central Coast and South Bay. These cars are more than just toys—they’re powerful tools for learning, independence, and joy. Movement supports development in so many ways: coordination, spatial awareness, social interaction, and more.
How did it all Begin?
GoBabyGo began in 2017 when two University of Delaware professors—one in physical therapy and one in engineering—modified a toy car to help a child with mobility challenges. They shared their plans widely, sparking a global network of initiatives working to make mobility accessible for all.
GoBabyGo in Our Community
Coastal Kids began modifying cars in 2024, and with the help of dedicated volunteers, grants, and local high school robotics clubs, we've already brought the gift of mobility to 18 local kids with disabilities — and we look forward to providing more.
We believe every child deserves the chance to move, explore, and play. GoBabyGo makes that possible—one car, one child, one family at a time. Interested in joining the movement? Donate to Coastal Kids Home Care today!
