IN-HOME SHIFT AND RESPITE NURSING

What is pediatric shift care?

For children with complex medical needs, shift care can allow them to live independently at home with their families. With RN, LVN, or CNA level care options, Coastal Kids Home Care assesses your child’s needs, matches them to a clinician who can provide excellent in-home medical care, and offers parents incredible peace of mind.

Is shift nursing care right for your family?

Caring for a child with complex medical needs can be rewarding yet is often also strenuous and time-consuming. For many families, balancing the high demands of caring for their child, with work, and the needs of their other family members can become overwhelming. Coastal Kids Home Care shift nurses are available to help by offering in-home RN, LVN, or CNA-level care in shifts of 3-8 hours.

Why Coastal Kids Home Care?

  • All nurses (RNs, LVNs, and CNAs) have specialized pediatric training and each provider is selected to meet the specific needs of your child and family.

  • Our team coordinates closely with you and your child’s physicians to develop a customized plan that meets your child’s daily needs and long-term healthcare goals.

  • Shift care offers families flexibility and peace of mind. Our caregivers have the experience and skills to keep your child safe and your family together at home.

Four ways shift nursing can help your child and support your family:

  1. In-home shift nurses provide skilled medical care for children including medication administration, breathing treatments, g-tube feedings, tracheostomy care, and more.

  2. Research shows that access to home healthcare improves health outcomes and reduces ER visits and hospital admissions for children with medical complexity.

  3. Our billing team works with your child’s state and private medical insurers to maximize coverage for shift care hours- ensuring continuity of care all year round.

  4. Having a non-family member in your home can be challenging, all caregivers are trained to respect boundaries and respond to the unique dynamics of your family.
